Time to Close on Tax Credit May Be Extended
There were many buyers who entered into a contract by April 30th and had to close by June 30th in order to be eligible for the tax credit. However, as is the case with most transactions these days, the mortgage lenders could not keep up with the volume, and they have not been able to schedule everything. Not only is it the lender, but with foreclosures, the electric has to be turned on, repairs made and extensions granted.
Surprisingly, it was duly noted that it was not the buyer's fault they could not accomplish this task, and the government is supposedly extending the time to close. They are suppose to sign off this Friday.
